I needed a car mount for my iPod. I looked at harvest that were particularly for the iPod, which were in the $40 range. My family also has cell phones that need to be charged in the car, so a combo USB and FireWire was a excellent key. I also bought a FireWire cable and paid around $20 for everything.

I'm using this in a Prius. The owner's manual warned of doable interference between the mount and the input to the sound system (since they are located together). I have not noticed any interference.
Excellent thing to have

For those of us with older ipods or multiple ipods (I refuse to pitch a perfectly useful music device), this product is fantastic. We can use it to provide unlimited listening time on either the new or the ancient type of ipod. Only drawback is it is long but that is right of all 12V adaptors.
